Today at Disneyland: More Halloween Time

We have been working ahead on lessons all week so we could take the day off and meet friends to enjoy a final day of Halloween Time at Disneyland. Ah, the perks of homeschooling!

I took my first ride on Space Mountain's Ghost Galaxy today. I liked it better than I expected. The effects were fairly mild, and the ride being extra-dark meant the dips and curves were a little more of a surprise than usual. It was a nice seasonal pick-me-up for a ride that's now over three decades old.

The park was relatively uncrowded today. We were able to ride all four mountains, Indy, and Jungle Cruise within about three hours' time.

After riding on Big Thunder Mountain, we strolled back to take a look at the decorations at Big Thunder Ranch.

It was a beautiful day, with temps in the low to mid 80s.

Clear blue skies above the Sailing Ship Columbia (above) and Sleeping Beauty Castle (below).

More blue skies above the Matterhorn:

We took a quick walk through Disney's California Adventure to look at Candy Corn Acres.

Mickey's Fun Wheel reflected in the bit of water that's been filled thus far in Paradise Bay:

Work goes on at the future World of Color seating area:

It was a wonderful, relaxing morning. Before we know it, Disneyland will be decorated for Christmas...we could see the Christmas tree backstage as we rode the tram to the Mickey and Friends parking lot!

Nice photos. I'll be going on Monday to see the Halloween fireworks one more time.

My daughter and her friend went today. She called home after 1 PM and said it was really crowded and they had to park at the Garden Shopping place and be bussed over. She's still there as I write this calling home to say they stayed for Fantasmic's second show.

We must have been there at just the right time today, Irene -- we left for home a little before 2:00. Smooth parking, and lines for everything except Ghost Galaxy were shorter than usual.

I still need to see Murphy in Fantasmic!

Enjoy your trip next week!

Best wishes,
Laura
