New Movie: The Young Victoria (2009)
Nearly 18 months ago I posted an item regarding a film in production about Queen Victoria's early years.That movie, starring Emily Blunt in the title role, is now ready to open in the UK on March 6th. A United States release date does not yet appear to have been announced.
The film also stars Rupert Friend as Prince Albert, Miranda Richardson as the Duchess of Kent, Paul Bettany as Lord Melbourne, and Julian Glover as Wellington.
An appealing trailer can be seen at the bottom of this article on a YOUNG VICTORIA exhibit coming to Blenheim Palace.
Perhaps my daughter will get a chance to see the exhibit while she's studying in England...

Oh, my. I certainly do hope it gets released over here. Loved the article, the pictures of the display and the clip. I noticed that Jim Broadbent and Princess Beatrice (!) are in this also. It would be great if your daughter could see this and take pictures for us to enjoy :)
Princess Beatrice has a bit part has a lady in waiting. According to the article linked in this comment, she's one of the first people seen on the screen.
I seem to recall reading in another article that the thought was it would be nice for one of Victoria's direct descendants to appear in the movie. :) There's a photo of her in the film with this article.
The movie and exhibit both look great, don't they?

Thanks for the link. Except for the hair color she seems to take after the Royal side of the family. I've been to see her mother speak twice on behalf of Weight Watchers. She was very good.
Over 20 years ago I saw the Yorks from a distance when they attended St. Luke's at 7th & Atlantic in LB while on a visit to CA. Sarah was expecting Beatrice at the time (and in fact I was expecting our oldest daughter). Kinda fun. :)

Oh, I hope she gets to see Blenheim! The approach is so beautiful and the house is lovely. There's a large odelisk memorial from the Duke of Marlborough to his wife, up a way on the hill behind the palace, that makes it clear it was a home, not just a magnificent building. And there's a terrific tea room nearby, in the small village. You can linger there quite a while over a classical tea experience - the food and the atmosphere are unbeatable.

Blenheim sounds wonderful! I would love to see it myself next time we're able to go to England.
I think my favorite place in England was another great estate, Chatsworth. Amazingly beautiful.
