V.P. Cheney Visits NASCAR

One of the things I particularly enjoy about NASCAR is the unabashed patriotism and support for our troops. This aspect of NASCAR is especially apparent at the Pepsi 400 at Daytona, which is traditionally held near Independence Day, and today was no exception, as Vice President Cheney stopped in for a visit. It made a wonderful picture as the drivers in their colorful uniforms lined up behind the Vice President while he made a brief speech as part of the pre-race ceremonies.

The V.P. also attended the drivers' meeting, where he thanked them for their support of our military.

To top it all off, the driver I root for, Elliot Sadler, had a Top 5 finish. :)

Sunday Update: Scroll down through the first couple dozen posts of this Free Republic thread for some great photos of the Vice President's visit to Daytona.
